The Raw Story: Grayson: GOP wishes there were Nobel prize for ‘fear, hatred, racism’

  • socatrini · 2 months ago
Sir, you are an endangered specie. I commend you for showing these bigots that you have a pair and that you have no fear in exposing them for what they are, Fearmongering, Racist, bigots.and hopefully soon to be a extinct group.
My hats off to you. Continue the fight.
  • kucinich2012 · 2 months ago
I hate to bring this up BUT...do you think the Dumbnocrats, in general, are any better? As for me, "Give me a third and fourth party or give me a passport out!"
  • starvapor · 2 months ago
    To kucinich2012....
Third and fourth parties ain't gonna happen, so....
I think you'd better go get your passport and one-way tickets now. You remind me of the Repubs during the Vietnam protest era that always objected to any anti-war expression by saying "America, Love it or Leave it".
  • kucinich2012 · 2 months ago
"Third and fourth parties ain't gonna happen, so...."
    Very negative of you, Butthole.

Also: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results". So you go ahead and keep expecting this corrupt government to change.
  • starvapor · 2 months ago
There was no possibility of a positive response to your initial negative
    comment.
You have just made my point with your disparaging remark to me.
  • farang · 2 months ago
    "starvapor 14 hours ago
    To kucinich2012....
Third and fourth parties ain't gonna happen, so...."

And why not? Seems I recall a "third party" candidate siphoning off enough votes in 1992 to throw the election to Bill Clinton...and going back even farther, a third party president named Teddy Roosevelt that attempted to end monopolies, so it is only attitudes like yours that keeps us pegged to a "choice" of the same ol' same ol'.

BTW, there ARE third and fourth political parties (and more) RIGHT NOW: you're just too lazy to look.

So go vote for "change" by candidates accepting HUNDREDS of MILLIONS from Wall Street banksters...lol. Good luck.
  • staunchdem · 2 months ago
A third or fourth party just isn't going to happen.
A passport you can get easily.
Go ahead and find a country that'll take you.

OMFG. This guy is simply amazing. He hits hard and he doesn't back down. Can we have him as Senate Majority Leader, instead of Harry "No Spine" Reid? (I know he's not *in* the Senate, but surely we can make an exception?)
  • susanai56 · 2 months ago
THAT would be the best thing - I agree with everything Grayson said.
  • ProudPrimate · 2 months ago
This Grayson has got the right idea! Ridicule is the best medicine for our national disease (the GOP).
  • Hologram5 · 2 months ago
You've got it right on the money Proud. I have subscribed to his "youtube" channel and have been following him for some time. The guy doesn't pull his punches and says what needs to be said to anyone that will listen. If you get the chance, take a look. You won't be disappointed that's for sure.
  • norgpitt · 2 months ago
Hooray for Rep. Alan Grayson. Finally a Democrat with guts. I will be putting my money were my mouth is and supporting Mr. Grayson. If you stand for me than i will stand for you. No more blind trust. No more voting 4 democrats just because thier democrat.
  • icenine · 2 months ago
This guy speaks the truth without dressing it up in niceties so as not to offend. He hopes he offends, which is something the Republicans understand.
  • farang · 2 months ago
Many Democrats have harsh words for the Repubs: Cynthia McKinney comes to mind.

But she got targeted by the msm and her own party for doing so.

The fact is, every Democrat could have harsh words for Repubs, but since corporations control the media, you won't hear their comments.

I'm surprised Grayson is getting airtime, might have something to do with his youtube popularity quizzing Fed officials....I like his style, and the questions he asks.
  • Bahb2 · 2 months ago

We need more Democrats to counter the constant stream of bile coming from the right. I applaud and agree with all that Mr. Grayson said and I hope he keeps speaking and pointing out the poison party. It's amazing he made his comments BEFORE President Obama won the Nobel Peace prize.

Take 1/4 Walter Cronkite, add 1/4 Fred Gwinn, mix with 1/4 Clarence Darrow, 1/8 Jay Leno and another 1/8 Tony Soprano and you start to get the picture of what Representative Alan Grayson is all about.

The guy is not going to sit back and take the mealy-mouthed crap that the right-wingers sling without a fight. And by most measures, the republicans are more like Ted Knight's character, Judge Elihu Smails (Ted Knight) than they are Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield) or Ty Webb (Chevy Chase). That's why their whining and kavetching sounds so pathetic and they look so ridiculous.
  • osage · 2 months ago
Controversial? Compared to Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, David Vittner, John Ensign, Mark Sanford or Dick Cheney? Compared to the average Republican politician Grayson is a poster boy for mental health.

    Get it straight John:
The Cold War's ending started with the demolition of the Berlin Wall which didn't happen until a year after Reagan had left office and HW Bush was president. And the fall of the Communist party in Russia came a year or two after that. Reagan had long been a mental vegetable by that time (many say he always was) with his Alzheimer's. Reagan had no more to do with that fall than Truman did at the Berlin airlift or Kennedy did with the blockade of Cuba or Nixon did with his trip to China. I would say he had much less to do with it. What did he do other than bankrupt us with unnecessary military spending? He didn't fight them. Carter started the military help to Afghanistan. Oh yeah. Reagan made a speech. Mr. Gorbachev, tear this wall down. Ooooh, I bet that scared them. It may have made you pee in your pants, them not so much. Gorbachev, on the other hand, had everything to do with the fall of the Soviets. He knew their currency was worthless and the system was in dire need of reform. Kinda of like W. Bush left the USA. So Gorby set out to reform the country and once that started, the dam burst and chaos ensued. But in your mind it will always be Reagan, I'm sure. That's why you folks need your own media channel and your own history books to go along with your own science books and your own bible. How else are you going to keep your myths from eroding under the constant pressure of peer-reviewed truth?

  • farang · 2 months ago
Got a specific reason Kucinich 2012 is incorrect, or you just displaying your devotion to a party (like almost all repugs do), instead of what's best for your country, like Kucinich 2012 is doing?

We could use a lot more Kucinich free thinkers, and a lot less Obama-huggers and worshipers, if you ask me.

How's that "change" coming, anyway? We left Iraq yet? oh..maybe in 2012, when the next election rolls around, huh, how about that....love that 24 TRILLION he GAVE to the criminals of Wall Street, do ya? How about opening another war in Pakistan while threatening Iran to show "peaceful intentions": maybe he'll win a Peace Prize for that..Oh. Wait.

Gotta love them Dems: just like the Repugs... they give you peasants a "Single Payer" option: Fined if you don't pay their INSURANCE CORPORATION MASTERS AN overpriced policy.

Ask Barney Frank about how he stripped all the regulation from the "Banking Reform" bill, wiseturtle?

wiseturtle; "America! Love it or leave it!"

Yawn, heard that one before, shellhead. Decades ago from people with double-digit IQs, if that.

I'll take a third party, please.

This guy is a class act. He is straight up and says what needs saying. I don't believe in a two party system but at least he is honest about things. We need change and I'm not talking about the little change, I am talking about a complete turn around in the direction this country is moving in.
  • Dave · 2 months ago
The present political system cannot be changed from within. It doesn't matter
what party you throw up. Americans seem to have spent their revolution back in 1776.
The only way out now is to allow this utterly corrupt system to implode. It's coming.

Alan Grayson "TELLS IT LIKE IT IS" - "DOWN TO EARTH" a Politician that actually does his job! Worthy of the money he earns and there should be more like him.

Reminds me of Sodom and Gomorrah, where "if Abraham found even 10 righteous people the city would be saved from Fire and Brimstone." There was only one! and with Alan Grayson standing up for his country, restores great faith that "The Almighty God" has not left the building!

The numbers of those following behind Alan Grayson are only growing! and Rapidly! Finally a politician that actually cares about his country and it's people rather than what he can gain from them. Any politician who opposes Alan Grayson should step down from his/her post and resign! It's because of this corruption, that nothing get's accomplished in Washington, while OBAMA does circles around them doing his best, but meanwhile, "WE THE PEOPLE" (Hard Working Tax Payers) continue to suffer the consequences. Look up the definition of "Treason" and tell me it doesn't fit the actions within the White House. IMO, just a bunch of over educated Idiots without good morals or common sense!

Trust me when I say, There Is A God, and let be known, HE IS PISSED! As for Alan Grayson, take a good look! In him you will find more a man and more human than you dishonest politicians will ever be! The true definition of a "REAL" leader! and someone who easily wins the trust and admiration from the good of heart in this country.

God Bless Alan Grayson and May God Speed! "SO BE IT"

There should be more Democrats with a spine and guts as Grayson has. We really should dump some of our antiquated democrats, (plus the party of NO repubs). We need more people to stand up for our values. Russ Feingold is one of the good Senators too, who is trying to keep the Patriot Act from being extended, WHY are our representatives and Senators so willing to give up THEIR rights to the Executive Branch? Is it too hard to do the work of following the Constitution and preserving their constituents' rights. Seems they have the right to "platinum" health insurance, plus giving themselves raises. Isn't an employer the one that gives raises? Aren't we THEIR employer? Don't they WORK for us?
  • GB · 2 months ago
More progressives need to talk like this in Congress. Being progressive means you want progress not like cheney going behind closed doors and giving the oil companies huge subsidies and wars costing the US our treasury.
The republican treason party and their followers only understand a strong stance and it will take more lawmakers like Grayson to turn the crimes against humanity started by bush and cheney to end and progress in health care and alternative energy to begin. So much precious time lost already the last 8 years.
  • John · 2 months ago
I think Mr. Grayson is a shallow, alarmist, political hack. Republicans (gasp) aren't the only ones surprised Obama received the award. People worldwide were surprised. We are still in Iraq, we are still in Afghanistan (in fact, he's expanding that one) IAEA now says Iran can make nukes...and the (political) committee that gives out the peace prize...gave it on the basis of what Mr. Obama said he *intends* to do. Such as destroying our health care system and having the government run it. THAT's a great way to draw the best and brightest to medicine...next time you go to DMV...think "doctor". So. Based on the fact it was awarded due to his intentions....there are hundreds of beauty padgeant contestants out there who have beat him to the punch with those intentions.
Reagan? ended the cold war, was instrumental in quite a few countries achieving their freedom, the list goes on...and wasn't even considered. This President has done none of those. Even Pres. Bush, hated as he was by many here...got Libya and some others to swear off state terror, people in Iraq voted first time in 35 years, and women did not have to fear being shot in a soccer stadium in Afghanistan quite so much. But sure. Go ahead and think the world is upset because they are (racist/hater/etc etc) it has nothing to do with the fact Mr. Obama hasn't yet even DONE any of the things he received it for. Even Mr. Obama had the decency to acknowledge that. So why can't we? It was a political decision by a small panel in an attempt to jab at Bush, who they resent. Remember, Yassir Arafat, open supporter of terrorist tactics for years...also won the award.

People need to come to grips with the fact that Obama neither nominated or awarded himself the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • Talis13 · 2 months ago
Ron try unhooking the OxyRush IV. Its killing your braincells. Really you cons dont have a clue in your ignorant little brains do you?
Reagan was just in office when the cold war ended. Do you actually know how to read? He didnt do it alone. They were already going down before he took office.
I weep for this country with the likes of you in it.
  • farang · 2 months ago
    " John 1 day ago
I think Mr. Grayson is a shallow, alarmist, political hack."
You happen to work for The Fed, John?
I see nothing "alarmist" about asking where the hell our trillions went in "Bailouts", now is there?
Define and specifically point to his "alarmist" remarks, or stfu.

The USSR was our ally in WWII, never once threatened to invade us, while we kept troops (and still do 64 years later) on their border.
Reagan vowed to outspend and break the former USSR "even if it bankrupted us", and it did. He borrowed more than all the presidents preceding him, raised my FICA taxes three-fold, while Bush1 and others ran a "secret government" behind his brain-addled back.

No wonder he is your hero. Repubs love Hollywood-type fantasies. Like stating falsely that the IAEA says Iran can make Nukes: That Is A Lie. They did not.

Go ahead, worship actors: look where it has taken California.....
  • ucsbclassics53 · 2 months ago
Let me guess, you think Bush should have gotten the Nobel Peace Prize...At least there's one other winger in Norway who thought so too and look how far that nomination went...
  • kevindo · 2 months ago
Maybe Obama has not done anything to deserve the Nobel and maybe he never will but, to say that ronnie raygun or dubya were competent is like saying rush limbaugh is a journalist. ronnie started the de-regulation that caused the economic crisis we are in (and yes the dems are just as culpable, no arguement there) and dubya surrounded himself with a gang of traitorous criminals that came very close to destroying Civil Liberties and Freedom in America. Libya? Please, they paid Ghadaffi to act the toby. And as for 'Democracy breaking out all over the Middle East'.... LOL, that is like saying Andy Coulter is a woman (and not a man in drag) or that repub politicians prefer adult women to little boys.... just not true. Sorry John but, your arguement does not hold water. Note I did not even address the Health Care issue, I doubt you would understand why we need reform and I am certain you cannot grasp the concept of prevention vs profit fueled cure.

Why is this guy the lone voice in the wilderness? It's very apparent that he's a big hit with Democrats - shouldn't that embolden some other Democrats to speak up and take a stand against the Republicans? Harry Reid (Mr. Nice Guy with a high need for approval and a weak spine) just isn't getting it done. I hoping there is one Democratic Senator who will step forward and join Grayson in calling it like it is. Maybe I'm naive.
  • Bahb2 · 2 months ago
    "Maybe I'm naive."

    You are.

Odigo listens to every phone conversation in America. Odigo is an Isreali company. So, with the MOSSAD listening to all our calls, don't you think that would give them an excellent opportunity to record conversations of all those lusty politicians and blackmail them into doing whatever their hearts desire? That's why they will never have to pay for killing all those folks on 911.

    Have a nice day.

    Yes!

And that's one of the many, many reasons America is owned by Jews. And why they will never ever pay for 911.

What makes Congressman Grayson so effective is that he backs his positions with facts from reliable sources, and it's hard to argue with the facts. He used the Harvard study to validate his claim. He is independently wealthy, and accepted no corporate money when he was campaigning for a seat in the H of Rs. IMO, this makes him doubly independent. He's in debt to no one, but he feels he owes a debt to the people who sent him to Congress. Keep it up, Congressman Grayson! I plan to continue donating to your 2010 campaign.

Let me see if I've got this right. If I'm not a Socialist, I'm a racist. If I'm not willing to apologize to the world for existing, I'm a racist. If I've got a problem with the President of our country bowing to forengn kings, I'm a racist.

I've almost decided to show this bunch of politically correct children that have taken over the Democrat party what a racist really is, but that label has always belonged primarily to the Democrats.

In case the retards in the Democrat party don't read anything but protest signs, Lincoln was a Republican. It was the Republicans that led the Civil Rights movement in the Sixties. Historically, it has been the Democrats that have been the racists.

In short Democrats, grow a brain.
