I read a small entry at another site that pretty much sums up the hypocrisy of this issue. The reason we are against it, is because our Bible says its wrong. Just like our bible says wearing cotton with polyester is wrong, and eating shellfish is wrong. Why, the author asks, do we pick and choose which commandments to follow?

I agree and my point was that use of the same word and the lack of distinction between a marriage in a religious establishment and one conducted by the civil courts, when there IS a distinction, is a lot of the reason people get all up in arms about this. And that that lack of distinction is a mistake and is the reason I consider the controversy F-ing lame. It's trumped up. Short of that, the only people who can drum up an issue with it are those that think that allowing gay marriage somehow has some impact on their own definitions of marriage, mostly because those people want to impose their limits on everyone else, so they assume other people's limits will be imposed on them. Which is at least not inTENDed to be the case.

I continue to assert it's a non-issue for anyone who actually thinks.

Joe Biden is practicing prophecy. First with the US being out of Afghanistan by 2014 and now its marriage equality between "equals" is inevitable. The illogic of fortune telling about homosapiens eventual evolution is plain for everyone to see from what Darwin has writ.

It may be that having progressed from algea to frogs and other animals forms that in time sexual intercourse between individuals of the same sex will result in a unisex world or possibly the ultimate unisex individual that does not need andother individual of either the same or other sexual orientation to reproduce.

That possibllity provides, especially America with unimaginable advantages over all other animals on this planet. Go forward and multiply!

Gay marriage would force churches to marry gay couples when they have a moral objection to doing so. This argument, usually advanced by churches that oppose gay marriage, is simply not true. These are all civil rights issues that have nothing whatsoever to do with the ecclesiastical origins of marriage; they are matters that have become enshrined in state laws by legislation or court precedent over the years in many ways that exclude gays from the rights that legally married couples enjoy and even consider their constitutional right.

They then fly these planes around for almsot an hour through the worlds most sophisticated air defense system...then, get this, with no actual piloting experience, they fly them into these buildings. But even more hysterical, they are unchallenged, and one of the buildings is THE MOST HEAVILY DEFENDED BUILDING ON THIS FACE OF THE EARTH. Yeah I know those conspriacy nutz will believe ANYTHING...!

Gay marriage is inevitable because is serves as another form of government control over the individual. It just takes time to overcome the religious objections on fairness and equal protection grounds to impose control over still another group of folks, who are conned into demanding "equal "treatment."

However, I suffer no illusions about Obama, or any other politician or political party. And, no I do not think that Obama is a greater threat than Bush. Whose presidency was a disaster of historic proportions. I am a realist and think of myself as a progressive. I think you mis-read my post...Never did I say anything is wrong with being gay or that gay dudes are pervs (how did you even get that idea?).
I said: Those that have to hide their shit become pervs (or have a greater chance of becoming so) because they are subliminating all this energy of their personality and it gets all wacked and warped when it is repressed.
